Bike ED Schedule

Bike ED is at Leverett Elementary at 1124 W. Cleveland Street during February.

The 2012 Highway 71 Classic will be March 4th.

The ride begins and ends at the Mill District, at South School and MLK Boulevard in Fayetteville.

Another six-month extension on the long-expired Transportation Bill was approved in September 2011 leaving Bike and Pedestrian funding in place.  The Transportation Enhancement portion was threatened again during the Oct 2011 appropriations process.  

We will fight this same battle again as the new expiration date (March 2012) draws closer.  We will use our list serve to keep you informed of when important bicycling votes come before Congress.

 An important first first step towards nationally legislated Complete Streets  was approved Wednesday, December 16th by a unanimous vote of the Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee.  Both John Boozman and Mark Pryor are members of this committee and

Bike ED teaches 3rd through 5th grade students how to drive a bicycle responsibly.  The program began in the Fall of 2010.  The documentary film of this first pilot year is on-line:   Bike ED:  Kids On Wheels
