Find answers to all your questions about the BCO and how to use this web site. Have a question not answered here? Send us your question and we will answer it for you.

BCO Membership

In the dropdown menu under About BCO click on the How You Can Help link.

  • Scroll down to Become a Member.
  • Choose your membership level.
  • Enter the amount in the PayPal box and click on the Send Payment button or download a BCO Membership Application form and mail it along with your check to the following address:

Depending on your Membership level you may receive one or more of the following:

  • Inclusion in our quarterly Newsletter.
  • Organic silk-screened BCO t-shirt.

All Members will receive our Print Newsletter. Members are also eligible for Board Membership.

The Newsletter is a seasonal print publication with illustrated updates on BCO activites. We print copies for events and for folks without email, and we post it to the web site where it can be downloaded and saved. It includes articles, news and information about what we are doing to promote bicycling in Northwest Arkansas.

Members may request a print copy and a PDF file can be downloaded from our web site.

Email List

The Email List is available to Members and non-members, guests and Registered Users, in short anyone who wants to be kept abreast of breaking news and events concerning bicycling in Northwest Arkansas. It is sent out several times a month. You may unsubscribe at any time.

In the User Menu in the left sidebar click on Subscribe to Email List.

  • Fill in your Name and Email Address.
  • Click Subscribe.
  • You will receive an email with a confirmation link.
  • Click on the link to activate your subscription.

In the User Menu click the Unsubscribe from Email List link.

  •  Fill in your Name and Email Address.
  • Click the Unsubscribe link.
  • You will get a confirmation email of your removal from the List.

Registered Users

Close All | Open All

You can click on the Site Registration link in the User Menu in the left sidebar or from the dropdown menu under the Getting Started link at the top of the page.

  • Fill in all fields and press the Send button. 
  • You will receive an email with a confirmation link.
  • Click on the link to activate your registration.

By registering you gain access to the following areas:

  • You may post to the Events and Forum sections.
  • You may upload photos to the Gallery.
  • You may start your own blog in the Blog section.
  • You may post comments in the News and Blog sections.
NOTE: Registration for access to these areas helps cut down on spam posts to this site

Once you are logged in there will be a menu item in the User Menu that says Unregister from Site.

  • Click on this link and you will be taken to the Unregister from Site page.
  • Enter your password and click the Unregister button.
  • Your personal info will be deleted from our database.

NOTE: Once you have unregistered you will no longer have Registered User access. You may, however, set up a new registration at any time.

Events

Close All | Open All

You must be a Registered User to add an event.

  • Once logged in go to the Events main page and click on the calendar icon at the top. Alternatively you can click on the Submit Your Bicycle Event link in the User Menu in the left sidebar.
  • Fill in all pertinent information in the form.
  • Make sure you select the appropriate category.
  • Click the Submit button and your event will be added immediately.

If you are interested in leading a recreational ride, please post it the Forum (you must be a Registered User to post).

  • Log in and go to the Forum.
  • Scroll down to the Urban Rides category.
  • Note the suggestions for what info to post.
  • Click on the city you will be riding in (contact me if your city is not listed and I will add it).
  • Click on the New Thread link.
  • Fill in the form and click the Submit button.
  • All posts will be added immediately upon submission.

Forum

Close All | Open All

You must be a Registered User to post to the Forum.

  • Once logged in go to the Forum (see top menu tabs).
  • Click on the Forum category you want to post to.
  • Click on the New Thread link.
  • Fill in the form and click the Submit button.
  • All posts will be added immediately upon submission.

Yes. Once you are logged in you can go the My Profile link at the top of the Forum page.

  • Scroll down to the Private Messaging box on the left and click on the New Message link.
  • Click on the Userlist at the top to select the User you want to contact.
  • Compose your message and click on the Send button.
Alternatively you can click on the Personal Mailbox link in the User Menu from the left sidebar and follow the above steps.

Yes! All the posts are visible to all visitors.

Blog

You must be a Registered User to upload photos.

  • Log in.
  • In the User Menu click on the Upload Your Photos link.
  • You can click on the Categories button to create your own category to upload your photos to. Then continue with the following steps.
  • Click on the New Picture button. 
  • Fill in the form with the appropriate information.
  • Click on the Browse buttons to find the pictures you want to upload.
  • Click the Upload button.
  • You can upload as many as 50 photos.
NOTE: Do not go to another page until each set of photos has uploaded. It may take a few minutes for each set to upload.

Yes. Do the following:

  • Click on the category thumbnail.
  • Click on the photo thumbnail you want to download.
  • On the page that opens, at the bottom of the photo you will see a square icon.
  • Click on the icon and save to your computer.

NOTE: If you save the thumbnail in the category view, you will not be saving the full size photo.

Registered Users

Once logged in Registered Users will have access to the following new menu links in the User Menu above:
  • Registered User Profile (change email address and password)
  • Logout
  • Unregister from Site
  • Submit Your Bicycle Event
  • Upload Your Photos
  • My Blog Dashboard (start your own blog)
  • Personal Mailbox (communicate with other Registered Users)
You will also be able to post to the Forum and comment on any News and Blog article.

We will NEVER give away or sell any of your private information to anyone.

 

The BCO is a 501(c)3 non-profit working to create a more bicycle-friendly community. All contributions are tax deductible.
