
Bike ED is a comprehensive, hands-on program that started in 2010 in the Fayetteville Public Schools to teach 3rd through 5th grade students how to drive a bicycle responsibly.
Spring 2013 will see the program travel at Holcomb, Owl Creek, Washington and Happy Hollow Elementary schools.

Changing Gears

Changing Gears is an initiative of BCO through board member Brittny Horn in conjunction with Seven Hills Homeless Center, Phat Tire, Arkansas Energy Corps to provide the homeless population of South Fayetteville with access to bicycles, lights, helmets and training in maintenance and vehicular cycling.

Washington Elementary celebrated bicycling and walking students on Tuesday, October 16, 2012. The Bicycle Coalition of the Ozarks gave out Clif Bars & reflective stickers for the students arriving by foot or bicycle. Students signed their names on the banner that will be posted on a wall this week honoring their healthy commute choice. Photos will be added.
The Washington Elementary School Bike Train, and this Bike | Walk to School Day are part of the Bicycle Coalition of the Ozark's Safe Routes to School efforts.

Fayetteville Bicycle Infrastructure Improvements

A survey of hundreds of Fayetteville area bicyclists in June.July 2012 resulted in a prioritization implementation of miles of pavement markings including sharrows, bike lanes and climbing lanes as well as bicycle route signage throughout Fayetteville.
Thanks to all the bicyclists who participated in the survey.
